Legend of the Mystical Ninja?
Wasn't that the Goemon game franchise? I know the name was changed in the US, but as I recall it was a pretty large franchise for the SNES with three or four pretty well done titles. EDIT: Yup. It was just a goofy side scroller platform. I actually played some of the later titles that never made it over. The production got a lot better as the franchise matured. Apparently it's not seen another release since 2005, though.
