Depends on where and how and all that jazz. For a long time I thought I hated salmon because I got it from a diagusting chain restaurant, and it tasted the way a muddy river smells.

Then I tried it again years later and omg so good.

Wild salmon. I've noticed this with other freshwater fish. If they're caught wild they taste like mud. Farm raised is vastly superior.

But in the case of salmon, the flavor of mud could only help, really.

I don't know where they actually catch salmon. Just that this is a telltale sign for freshwater fish.

Yeah, my wife and her dad just came back from an Alaska fishing trip and now I have something like 80 pounds of delicious salmon in my freezer.

Salmon is one of my favourites among fish.

I feel bad for people who dont like fish at all. Prawns, squids, lobsters, crabs and scallops are like premium food. If they are fresh, you can taste the sweetness in their flesh. Not everyone can afford fish all the time if they live inland. I live in a coastal town so we can have fish for dinner every night if we want -still kinda expensive tho.

But the higher level 'delicacy' like see cucumbers, sea urchins. I havent really tried. Im afraid to try those cause they look so ugly.

Make sure you salmon has been in the freezer for over 72 hours before you have your fish medium rare. Otherwise you should cook your fish well done. You dont want to catch parasites. Fish have a lot of them.
