But that aren't as boken?
*this is the tl;dr, you don't really need to go past here really*

I love the game but God damn it's such a mess, undoubtedly a lot of progress has been made on it and it's gradually getting better but seriously it's going to be years before it goes out of alpha, if ever.

It doesn't necessarily need to be a zombie game or anything but I want a game with easy to learn but hard, yet satisfying to master mechanics with a lot of depth that you gradually learn through experience and trial and error.
I love the mechanics and tense atmosphere 7DTD has, it's honestly really addicting, but it's so disheartening to pour 10's of hours or more into a world, to get so far, and then have it all get fucked by some game breaking glitch. It makes it so much harder to get back into it and start over knowing that at any time something completely out of your control or not relating to the mechanics of the game can fuck your shit up and set you back hours worth of time or worse.
Also it's so poorly optimized, which I know is a dumb complaint for a game on alpha, but it's been so many years yet it still runs like ass on my PC and once I get a very large shelter set up with a lot of blocks in a small area and horde night comes, performance chugs from over 60fps to probably into the 20's (I haven't ever actually measured but I know it drops hard) and it's almost unplayable. I played it a bit on consoles as well to be able to play with some friends who don't have a capable PC and even in Boost Mode on a PS4 Pro the performance is sub 30 fps pretty much constantly when in a big area or there's lots of zombies, etc. Which I guess makes sense because it's more of a CPU bottleneck and isn't the Pro basically the same in every way except dual GPU's? I guess that wouldn't really help much but still I expect better performance than that, but I digress. It's also missing a lot of PC content and has unique glitches of it's own that can be worse than PC.

Anyways any games like it out there? Preferably with multiplayer to play with friends but that's not required.

Tag, I'm in the same boat, recently got into it about a year ago but the problems really drag it down.
And to rant a little, the console versions are a joke, I don't even know how they passed QA to get released on the consoles and I also feel like it's really scummy that I'm sure a lot of people bought it who had no idea the main game was in alpha and not a full release. It isn't mentioned anywhere in the description or anything because technically even though the main game is in alpha the company that made the console versions was supposed to tweak it and make it worthy of a full release, which it isn't, at all. At least it isn't full price but still, it should be noted in the description, on the box, and all that, that it's not really a full or finalized game or something along those lines imo. What sucks is due to wanting to play with my friends, the PS4 version is all I have (I just have a base PS4) and even putting too many torches around my perimeter is enough to kill performance, or just once it gets too big.
I don't know how to get spotlights on the console versions yet since it's different from PC so I basically have to decide if I want to play above like 20fps or if I want to be able to see at night. Ntm being afraid to expand because I'm worried my PS4 will burst into flames.
Oh and don't get me started on the garbage draw distance which only renders like 2 feet in front of you...

I don't know anything about game development so this is probably an ignorant thing to say, but it doesn't seem like a demanding title at all, I don't understand why constant 60fps isn't easily achievable for this game. I've never played it but Minecraft is another block based game and I think that's a constant 60fps @ 1080p on console. I don't see why 7 Days should be that much more demanding, even if they were lazy with optimization it shouldn't be this bad, should it?

I'm not familiar with Terraria, I'll have to look into it.
I'm familiar with Minecraft but haven't ever touched it. Does Minecraft actually have any level of challenge it it though? I was under the impression that Minecraft was pretty much just about having the sandbox to build stuff which I interpret as just being grind for materials, build, repeat. Does it actually have any more depth to that should I desire that?
