Don't do it all at once. Do Ixali/moogle dailies, daily turn-ins, a couple of leves. And don't forget to use exp booster scrolls fromt he grand company.

True, but the GC manuals are. That and it only takes like an hour or two to hit 20.

Lvl 15 takes less then an hour with GC scrolls and just creating recipees from your level guide. Could probably be done in less than 30 min, honestly.

I am currently mass buying basic materials to make the more advanced materials

If you plan to train your other jobs, you can just make your own equipment rather than buy them to level the other classes.

But at this point, I rather buy them

Just join the closest english server. Lag isn't a thing in this game for the most part

I play on a US server from Europe and I've never had an issue except when I type on my USB keyboard it tends to lag a bit.

Is there a returning player free trial? I own the game, just don't want to fork over 15 to see if the lag is bearable.

They have this thing where you can play up to level 30 for free with certain limitations. I'd say just make a new character and try that to see if it lags
