The first one. I thought Berkley was the most prestigious.

In terms of academics... Berkeley, then UCLA, then it's debatable.

Irvine is generally ranked on the lower side among the UCs, but no one's going to turn their nose up at any of the them

I'd rank Irvine #3, personally. But I think it's pretty debatable between Davis, San Diego, and Santa Barbara.

There have been years where Berkeley has tied Stanford in national rankings (for whatever those are worth), but most often it falls below both Stanford and Caltech.

Some of Berkeley's STEM curriculum is pretty much identical to the other two schools. Berkeley's Computer Science curriculum is a carbon copy of Stanford's. Berkeley's Physics department uses the same books as Caltech and MIT. I would say that the student bodies of Stanford and Caltech are better-prepared for college and a bit more capable though. Berkeley attracts some bright students but many of them would have chosen Stanford had they been accepted / if they could afford it.

Its Berkeley then UCLA then the rest. If you have to ask that question then you don't have to worry about getting into either school.

And after that its SD, Davis, Irvine, Santa Cruz/Santa Barbara/Riverside, Merced.

I have to ask someone somewhere. I don't know anything about college and answers like yours are the same I always get.

SD is too high, they have the really easy requirements to get in.

I went to Davis also. It was a great experience, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. However, if you are used to living in a big city or living near a beach, you will find Davis somewhat boring. I'm in grad school at SD and there is just so much more to do.

I would rank the UCs as follows:

High:
Berkeley (undisputed #1, worldwide recognition)
UCLA

Mid:
UCSD (almost high tier)
Davis (you can swap Davis/SB/Irvine depending on interests)
Santa Barbara
Irvine

Low: (keep in mind "low tier UCs" would be the best school in several states)
Santa Cruz
Riverside
Merced

It also varies by major.
