I was skeptical of them trying to do spinoffs of Game of Thrones, but I'm reading through The World of Ice and Fire and there's a crazy amount of details in this. I would totally be down for a story based on Aegon the Conquerer trying to take over the seven kingdoms.

I know they said they wouldn't do Robert's Rebellion, but even the events leading up to it would be cool. Watching Aerys go from normal to insane, with Tywin shadow ruling the kingdoms would make a damn good show.

personally, I would love a fictional spin off of Jamie and Bronn wandering westeros getting into trouble.

Roberts Rebellion would be the best story for a spin off. No magic/super natural stuff which old be nice. Plus they already have one actors from the main series who could appear (with some cgi to make them look younger of course).

I think Dunk and Egg would be. GRRM needs to wash his hands of that and let it finish on HBO. Just my opinion

Yeah. I'm just surprised at how detailed these backstories go if you read that giant history book. I've had it for like 2 years now, but I'm just starting to read it. It's got some great material for potential shows.

Once a year make a different miniseries set at a different time in history. One of the series could be about when the First Men met the children of the forest

Agreed, Dunk and Egg would be legit.

I personally wouldn't mind the blackfyre rebellion (all of them) and the Dance of the dragons.

I pretty much just wanna see a lot of bloodraven and possibly Daemon.

I'd also be super down for a spin off right after the doom of Valarie (too stupid to spell it right now).

I had no idea there was more than 2 continents until I got that book. I thought Asshai was like the edge of the world.

My thoughts exactly lol. I halfway hope that's what a dream of springs about but I mean I highly doubt it and it would be a dues ex machina. An arguably foreshadowed one, but one nonetheless.

None that George has written in detail like ASoIaF, and after the show went off book and they had to actually write a lot of their own material the show itook a huge dip in quality.

Though I guess if they keep tits and dragons the average show watchers will still eat it up, so... Whatever.

You sound so bitter. Yeah, the show has taken a different direction than the books, but you can enjoy both. Nothing worse than a neckbeard who watches every episode of GoT but still complains every fucking week how bad it sucks now when the turht couldn't be further.

The only question is will everyone be too old to return by the time they start it up?

I do agree with this. While I've been enjoying this season because of all the flashy moments, it's started to become very fan service and took away a lot of what the series what it is.

In one way I'm happy because a lot of this shit doesn't make sense in the context of the book so I feel like I'm not getting that spoiled.

Most definitely.

Probably better if they didn't bother, then. I just hope they recast some of the younger characters. I didn't really see any resemblance in the guy who played Young Ned in season 6.

I sure as hell hope the books are finished though TC. GRRM doesn't care I'm sure (maybe he does) but if the last two are strong the serious could be a serious contender for greatest work of the 21st century or however we wanna term it.
