This girl I know had nice, flowing red hair and amazing body with GG cups. One of the best looking people I've seen. Then years later, she cut it short (like a bowl cut) and started dyeing it other colors such as blonde, purple, blue.

Such a shame.

Women typically lose dating value the more they age no matter what they do. That's just how it works (most men place a BIG priority on a woman's physical beauty...her youth). So an older woman has less incentive to bother looking like a beauty queen when most attractive guys are no longer checking her out anyway.


In addition, basic biology can lead to an aging woman to adopt different choices in appearance. Just like men, many women also begin to have receding hair lines and decreased number of follicles. So shorter hair styles can still provide volume or style for an older woman with naturally thinning hair. Shorter hairstyles also reduce the weight burden on an woman's neck. Long voluminous locks can actually add noticeable weight to her head, which become less practical to have the older she gets.

This can differ depending on the individual, particularly with gender differences involved.

For example, an able bodied man with larger neck muscles (than most women) is not going to notice much of a burden from having thick, long hair. However, petite or average sized woman with a thinner neck and thicker hair will likely feel a difference. And even if the felt weight is minimal, that's still enough to compel many women to ditch the Rapunzel look.

Like they start getting borderline manish haircuts. My wife told me it's because their hair starts to thin out.

Definitely this. My hair is almost two feet long and it's a pain just to keep it from looking like crap.

long hair adds weight, heat, cost, and time to take care of it

There are plenty of women who dont give their husbands enough sex. And a lot treat their husbands like shit. Ive seen too many complaint posts on reddit.

Going back on topic, styling your hair short while giving it volume when you reach senior citizen age just perpetuates the idea that you're getting old, and I guess they've come to term with it.
