Oh god best story, that was awful. Vinny's amazing Zero Time Dilemma pitch winning everybody over only for him to give in to Alex and Firewatch because he's too nice. But the two never should have been facing off, because DOOM should not have been in that list, man.

brad's super chill from january to november, but he's always the loudest come goty deliberations and it's the one thing that consistently sparks energy and discussion. without him, jeff would always have his way!

vinny has gotten considerably softer throughout the years (with the fallout 4 discussion as the one exception). i do wonder if he'll be more active in pushing for things this year considering how animated he's gotten when the beast crew has been telling abby to get ready for goty talks. i have a feeling he's going to be the biggest supporter for pubg, and if jeff brings up the early access technicality, vinny will go off.

Jeff's recent comments have very specifically been that PUBG will be the reason they start counting early access NEXT YEAR. They've been pretty adamant that that game not coming out would be a big problem.

What I don't get is why the goty "rules" have to be in place on January 1st when deliberations are in December.

Jeff's point is that they don't want to change the rules for one game that year because that's a tacit statement that past early access games they really enjoyed were just not good enough to begin with. He very clearly does not want to change the rules at the last minute for a single game. He wants the rule to change, but it needs to happen next year. I agree with him.
