change your spending habits

They are pretty good already. I think its more the cost of living relative to my income.

I make 13.13 an hour. By the time my 401k, taxes, and health insurance comes out I take home about 1660 a month.

675 rent
120 student loans
200 on food (give or take 50)
30-50 on electric
45 on internet
About 60 on gas
160 car insurance
20 on gym
12 on renters insurance
60 on cell phone

Mathmatically already that is a maximum of $200 difference, and since I live in the real world where shit happens and comes up, you can bet about another 100 or so will be used.

So its really not budgeting, its probably living beyond my means.

Well, I did say spending habits not budgeting.

Those don't seem like outrageous numbers though. What did you study? What do you do now? Do you have a roommate?

I work in IT, I have an associates. No I live alone, moved here after my ex and I broke up.

About 60 on gas
160 car insurance

These two stand out most to me. How much are you driving? I spend about $30/month for gas, and I drive at least 20 miles (10 miles each way) a day for work, and usually more on weekends.

As for insurance, that's like 2x what I pay with State Farm. You should do some quote shopping for that.

-Get a roommate or move to a cheaper place, you're spending 40% of your income on rent, you wanna get that to or a bit below 30%.
-Try a get a better paying job. I know it's a lot easier to say than do, but always keep looking.
-Cut out your gym membership until you build up AT LEAST $1500. I wouldn't get a membership until much later.
-Do you need all the insurance you have? $160 is a lot if you have a junker car. What kind of car do you have?

Health insurance doesn't make sense if the deductible is so high that by the time you can use it you are going to be bankruptcy. You might be better off eating that tax penalty.

-I am on this lease for another months, but a roommatenis technically possible, however its only one bedroom and a living room so good luck finding someone to agree.
-My job is literally so easy, I sit there and watch Netflix and get the additional password change most days. I just got my A+ a week ago, so when we merge into this other hospital I am hoping to be promoted to PC upport at $18 an hour.
-The gym is costing me more in diet, but it keeps me confident and makes me feel better.
-As mentioned earlier, my insurance has gone down a lot already. I might cut to limited tort buts probably only gonna drop it another $10 or so.

You should be learning new skills instead of watching Netflix.

I taught myself project management by powering through some textbooks for a couple of weeks.

I think the implication is that you should move to a 2BR place.

Though I could ask, where do you live that's cheap enough to price a 1BR at 675 + electric? My studio on the outskirts of Minneapolis is 801 (though they pay all utilities so it's that flat rate every month). Still though, that's a studio, whereas you've got yourself a 1BR.

I am paying $23 to my normal, and 100 for my moms parent plus she took out so I didn't have to drop out.

Its well known in terms of my debt/degree worth ratio I have already failed, but I am managing it fine.

Erie PA. We have rent as low as 425 (In neighborhoods you can get shot walking to your car that is.)
