because it costed him $2k back in the day. when we were kids we weren't even allowed to hook up consoles to it because he said it would damage it. also we barely used to even use it. just for DVDs every now and then but most of the time we used to watch shit on the lounge rooms tv.

I think it's pretty obvious what has been happening. He's been using it to play Super Nintendo games for the past 20 years. He just didnt want to share.
