there are great schools all over the world. giving some arbitrary metric and saying "Harvard is the best" is meaningless

and no matter how great the schools are, it's meaningless if they're not accessible to everyone.

No. It is not just a talking point. Creating echo chambers of thought and discussion is not healthy for a society that values innovation, creativity, resourcefulness, individuality and ethics. Do you really want citizens who all think the same way or are afraid to question and critique each other?
