I live in Dallas, and have been to D.C and Austin multiple times, id pick a night in D.C or Uptown/Greenville in Dallas over 6th street any day, but its a lot cheaper in Austin.

I think I spent like $100 on drinks the one night I was in Dirty Sixth.

A third of it a Jackalope, a third elsewhere on the street, a third at the JW Marriott bar once I left Sixth to go somewhere quiet.


Half of me wants to go back.

I was in Arlington near UTA.

So it was about a half hour to Dallas and a half hour to Forth Worth.

Did a lot of driving.

It's a good STD ridden street, Austin is cool but it's a college kid city. I've lived here in Texas all my life, and you're saying summer was a good time to visit?

It blows, regularly reaching 105 recently DAILY, the only other climate worse than this would be some tropical rain forest jungle, or some dessert​
