lol, wtf was her fucking problem?

Ive noticed that over the seasons i have grown to dislike her. She went from being potential real bad bitch to straight up bossy.

Why do writers mistake writing strong bad bitches by making them bossy

Same thing happened with Sansa.

Real strong bad bitches are Cersei, Arya, Brianne, Milisandre from the top of my head. Strong female character without the #bossy vibe

Well she wants to become Queen.

Theres no point to becoming queen if you ask for support and they are all like "hmmmm, nah"

Her character arc seems to be taking her in the direction of her father, the mad king.

The story seems to be about how even a kind and innocent girl has the capacity for madness and cruelty.

It's a frustrating situation but she is there to rule over Westeros. Not give half of it to a guy she just met.

They're gonna end up marrying to resolve it anyway.

Eh I don't see it. She listens to the people around her because she doesn't want to be like him.

She's not needlessly cruel either. Taking on Kings Landing with dragons is the quick, easy and effective method to win the war but will have a major cost in casualties. It's not cruelty for the sake of it.

Her arc isn't over yet, obviously. And she is definitely getting more cruel. She's now threatening to burn people alive for betraying her, like the mad king did.

I don't see Dany becoming the Mad Queen, because we already have a mad queen in Cersei.

Didn't the Mad King try to burn down King's Landing and burnt people alive randomly? Executing someone for betrayal is a bit different. Even the Starks decapitate people who betray them and that's not just a threat.

But yeah I guess we'll see. She'd have to suffer a major loss for her to break like that I think.

The gods flip a coin when a Targaryen is born.

Jon is the perfect blend IMO. He's got that Stark nobility and honor from Lyanna and the pragmatism and resolve from Rhaegar. Too much Stark and they fall for obvious traps. Too much Targaryen and it toes the line of madness.

Again, arc's not over, but sooner or later after maybe a few more tragedies she will become paranoid enough to want to kill everybody.

There's a large disconnect from the books to the show. You have to remember that her characterization comes from the books, where she is (iirc) 15 or 16. I think she was... 11? When she married Drogo.

Her being a bossy, petulant child fits right in with how old the character is supposed to be.

Edit: Just checked dates, she's ~16, and was married at ~13. My bad, thought there was a bigger gap between.

I hate Dany so goddamn much you have no idea. I hope she does become the antagonist and someone has to kill her. If they pull a "Dany is the good guy and she wins and saves Westero and she gets the throne and wins the end" I will be pissed.

It's strange because I actually kinda like Dany in the books. It's just the show where I hate her so bad.

I think it's because she lacks the inner monologues from the books. In the show, all we see is her being completely confident and bitchy because she has to assure her people, while in the books we get to see how scared of failing and unsure of herself she is. She kind of had that in earlier seasons in her talks with Jorah, but that's all but gone now. The closest thing we have is her talking about Gray Worm's dick is Missande.

Contrast that with Jon for example, who outwardly admits how terrified he is, or Cersei who is completely sure of herself, and Dany loses the most to the lack of inner monologues.

Real strong bad b****es are Cersei

Cersei is terrible.

She's literally never achieved anything on her own and is only propped up by the people around her. Specifically Jaime and Qyburn currently.

it's kind of a bummer what happened to daenarys's character. last ep they kind of hinted at what tons of viewers are noticing (that she is basically becoming what she fought against) but then her second in command was like "no, she is our friend! mother of draaaagons! I can leave whenever I want" and I have to wonder if that is a hint or if it is the writers sweeping her personality under the rug to make her more of a standard hero for the show
