Things got a little hairy for a minute when I couldn't figure out how the on/off switch was supposed to fit in place (it fell out before I saw how it was supposed to fit in) but I was able to find some reference images and get it back in place.

What I realized after the fact was that it'd look better if I had the silver body GB micro instead of the black body, but this is a micro I bought used at Gamestop for like $30 a decade ago. A silver body one today would run me roughly triple that. Even a broken for-parts system would be more than that, so it's not really worth it.

If anything, maybe I'll take it apart again and spray paint the body.

are micros worth that much now?
I avoided getting one at the time cause I had an SP, but if I'd known they'd be that expensive...

Yeah a micro in decent condition is easily $80+ right now. Even a broken one is $35-50 depending how banged up it is. I had thought I could buy a silver one for parts but the cheap ones are all really badly damaged.
