She's in her 80's and has been using a flip phone since 2007 and that took a long time for her to comprehend how to use it and now my Mom had to upgrade her phones and got an extra smartphone.

I was trying to show her how to swipe the screen after having the phone locked and she only swiped a tiny bit and not doing anything. Once we got passed that part, I was showing her the basics of just dialing the phone and accessing contacts and she tried swiping everything haha. I think after a couple of days, she started to get the hang of it.

This got me thinking: If I make it to my 80's, will technology be very foreign and uncomprehensible, to me? I'm already feeling that way with all the crazy tech being developed and also building PC's. I catch on to the newest computer hardware, but my knowledge of hardware in the late 90's was a lot easier than it is now. Kids are learning these things at a faster rate and it kinda makes me feel dumb haha.

tl;dr -- Grandma kinda knows the basics of a smartphone and I feel like I'm going to be clueless about tech 50 years in the future.

One of my goals in life is to stay on top of technology throughout my life.

My grandma actually knows how to use an iPhone better than I do, I never use apple phones.
