I feel kind of bad that I didn't play Nier because I know he's a character there too and all of his stuff in Automata seems like really good payoff.

That video doesn't highlight the best part of the song, in that in game it sounds like it's coming through a loudspeaker attached to Emil. So, he's literally blasting through the cityscape Wasteland, blaring that song at full volume.

The best part is the doppler effect, the hilarity of which is directly proportional to a) how fast he's moving, or b) how much his inclusion will suddenly destroy the mood of any scene you're in.

I haven't really compared nor would I be able to since I don't know Japanese, but I'm told 2B comes off as more sarcastic and A2 as angrier in the English dub.

Regardless, I thought it was great on its own.

Well, Route B done. I figured the humans were all dead since the end of Nier showed humanity was fucked. That just makes me wonder who was Emil protecting earth from? Why are the androids even fighting? It's pointless. Who the fuck made and is making androids? What's the deal with these machines?

I just have more questions and high hopes for Route C

It's funny how the pods talk to each other and wanna make sure 9s and A2 don't cross paths.

Someone is really trying to mess with 9s. 21O is alive and being used like a puppet. Also holy shit BIG BROTHER IS REAL. That wasn't just some random thing. That's actually really awesome. I kinda felt bad killing big brother bot.

you could, but it's ending E that erases everything (if you choose the option).

after you've seen endings C&D, it'll lead towards ending E.

I chose not to delete my saves because I wanted to get E before the impact of my first run wore off. Deleting them was like a final farewell to the game while I shelved it until I got the urge to play through everything again.

Which adds a layer onto when the game taunts 9S about ****ing 2B. It's Yoko Taro playing with our expectations and projecting our own desires in what we think 9S wants to do, which is have sex with 2B. However, there's an undercurrent of thought with 9S in that he's subconsciously aware of 2B's official designation and her role in the story, and how that censored word changes from 'fuck' to 'kill' in his contextual mind.

It's been a while but I think going on the ark is 9S wanting to forgive himself and dropping the hatred and not going is him thinking he doesn't deserve it.

If you go on, is it the one that ends with him saying "Oh, so that's where you've been"? Because I liked that one.
