Straight up, I'd sooner expect Sora to hook up with Riku tbh. I mean, did you see how he reacted to reuniting with them? All Kairi got was this awkward hug, with Riku he was sobbing and on his knees and shit. They knew exactly what they were doing with that. >_>

The Riku thing works like this...

Basically, in the Kingdom Hearts universe, your heart determines how you look. So when Riku began to let out Ansem's darkness, it was like he was surrendering his heart to Ansem. So with Ansem's darkness having such a huge grasp on his heart, Riku's appearance changed to look more like Ansem.

Granted, he still looks a bit different from the real Ansem, due to it being a different character model. Not sure if that was intentional, though.

That is a fair point, actually. From Sora's POV, wasn't Riku last seen locking himself behind a door infested with Heartless or something like that? I don't even remember, man. KH1's ending is still somehow fresher in my memory than anything that came after.

Fuck that final boss. I literally died at the last spot where you gotta reflect all those laser blasts cuz I didn't know what was going on >_> I had to restart the whole fight

But otherwise that was great. This ending song is really really good and I liked this game more than Kingdom Hearts 1 imo, but they're both really great games! I'll probably dabble a bit in some of the post-game content in 2 and then watch 358/2 days >_>

I can't count the amount of times I died on Lingering Will. Defeating him was one of my proudest video game achievements

Marluxia's Silhouette is probably the hardest to defeat, but his Data was the easiest for me since I memorized all of his attack patterns from his Silhouette (even if they are switched up differently).

That's probably the biggest hurdle I have to overcome in any KH replay. Moving so slowly.

Replaying as well. The beginning is just horrendous. There is no reason why the tutorials needed to be spread out across multiple missions when they could have just given it to you all at once. Not to mention how mundane they are. Here's a whole mission just to teach you how to swing your keyblade at enemies.

Yes I understand that the tutorial missions were meant as a way to have you spend time with the Castle Oblivion crew before they kick the bucket, but they could've just had one tutorial and then used the CO crew for more interesting things.

To be fair, you can usually plow through the tutorials pretty quickly. The longest parts of them are the interactions with the characters involved which is both to the point and fairly interesting, and the actual slow gameplay aspect of it is usually pretty cut and dry and doesn't take all that long.

I think I might dig out my copy and replay it myself. There's always the chance I overhype the game in my mind, but I remember it being pretty great.

Btw, the proper order of play is Terra -> Ven -> Aqua

Terra and Ven are sorta interchangeable in terms of play order, but you have to play Aqua last.

So Keyblade wielders are literally Jedi >_>

No, you just have to beat each character's story. Also make sure you put them each on a separate save file

One thing you'll notice is that most of the world visits are rather short. This is because the characters visit the worlds in different orders and see different parts. So while say Enchanted Dominion is only like 20 minutes long for Terra, Aqua's romp is much longer and covers a much larger area.

It's a pretty cool way of making each play through feel fresh

Also here's a tip. Max out Mickey's D. Link. It gives you an ability when active that makes level grinding way easier
