Funny people talk about games lacking something these days that try too hard or not enough in areas. This game just flat out looks like a real video game to me and like it rocks.

I've been wanting a game that doesn't cut corners and has a good campaign, deep combat, gameplay, graphics, doesn't water itself down etc. Story, twists and turns, special effects etc. Strong narrative puzzles etc. It looks like what HZD should have been or even Dark Souls with an actual story and campaign. I guess not for everyone or what sells but that's the problem with games today is people are either not playing games because there's nothing to get excited about or they play watered down crap.

Looks like ninja theory has retained their hardcore roots.

I'm interested in it, but I don't really like buying games digitally.

I'll probably pick it up, though.

I more just want quality games. It doesn't even have to hardcore. He is talking about exactly what I've been though about how they've driven the cost of developing games up and there is a lack of risks being taken. Games with 60 hours of gameplay and nothing to do is not that fun to me. I like replayability and all of that but open world games in general are lacking something as far as being engaging. I like the older elder scrolls games but the newer stuff has become more and more streamlined and losing that part that made these series great in the first place.

I'll take a shorter game at half the price if it's good. Trying to sell to the masses and developers not even really doing that and getting lazy isn't good. As much as certain games sell based on name and branding there still are a lot of people out there not even playing games. I think the industry has been getting really stagnant too because of it's own faults.

Games were still selling but now it's starting to catch up to them too because people aren't even buyinig the big series as much anymore and the cost of making those games is through the roof. There's room now for other developers to step to the forefront.

If you understand anything about economics these major publishers are still hording a lot of the sales but people are losing interest too so there is room for a game like this to do well.

Yeah, if it had a physical I might have bought it.

What's baffling is nobody is talking about Lawbreakers when it is a better Overwatch.

It doesn't look very good in my opinion. Also, Ninja Theory.

I don't think they are the end all be all by any means but they have a certain niche. Heavenly Sword, DMC, Enslaved etc aren't trash games. I always confuse them with Team Ninja because they are like a knock off of that but are quality themselves. DMC was always Ninja Gaiden's mirror. Tecmo and Capcom I think. I don't know the whole history there but very similar and were obviously targetting the same niche market of hack and slash action adventures.

DMC and Ninja Gaiden I always considered linear hack and slash action adventure in it's purist form when it was at it's height.

Half the issue is it is the same developers thogh. These developers created those genres. You rarely see developers today creating new ones or more story driven action adventures in different ways. You have open world but they are all pretty watered down. There is a lack of new talent because AAA games are all controlled by major publishers.

You don't see people creating new genres today with that kind of budget. You do but they aren't necessarily good either. QTE and walking simulators isn't what I'm looking for.
