Most sitcoms only used 3 main sets at the most, and it made sense to have one social and one private location set for the cast members to congregate in, and the only two common private location sets are houses and apartments. Similar things can be said about "people living in NYC" being a ripoff of another show about "people living in NYC". There are very few sitcoms that aren't set in a major city, and NYC, as the most populous one in the nation, connects with the most audience members and is therefore a common city to set a sitcom in. --- You're such a boring characterless entity.
