Judge Lawrence Moniz said that that once released she will be on probation for five years for her crimes after she told her b/f to "get back in the truck" via text as she texted several times with him that day before he ultimately took his own life. He granted a defense motion that would keep her out of jail until her appeals courts were exhaused after being convicted back in June on involuntary manslaughter who instructed Conrad Roy III to kill himself. Several family members of the victim provided heartbreaking statements that sahred how he is missed and caleld for her to be sentenced to the maximum 20 year prison term. Conrad's father cried while reading an emotional statement stating that Conrad Jr was heading the right direction with a bright future before Michelle took that away from him as they said she used him as a pawn and shown no remorse Michelle was tried was a youthful offender so the judge had several options for sentencing and could have committed her to a Deparment of Youth Services facility until she turns 21 The prosecution argued for 7-12 years while defense asked for 5 years probation...which she got. The judge said this was tragedy for 2 families but said that Michelle is still at a young age that offers greater promise of rehabilitation and said "I have not found that her age of level of maturity or even her mental illness, have any significant impact on her actions. She is a bright young lady, did well in school. And i am satisified that she was midnful of the actions she delivered" Both teens struggled with depression as Michelle struggled with anorexia and Conrad with earlier suicide attempts before he took his own life that day. Do you think this was a fair sentence? damn she got ugly. i thought pics of her before she looked better but ewe now.
she should have gotten at least 5 years. more like the 7-12 they wanted since she would still probably only serve half that and get out after like 4-6 years. she's probably only gonna serve like half a year of that now. we all seen the texts she sent so it's obvious she's the reason he went through with it after he tried not to multiple times. she pressured him into it. ... As bystanders and nonvictims, it's easy for us to judge and be misguided in what we see as justice.
Neither 15 months in prison nor 15 years in prison will make this girl feel remorse or guilt for her actions. The lesson isn't "I shouldn't have done what I did because I hurt all these people", it's "I shouldn't have done it because I'm going to prison now" Real justice would fit the crime. She should have to listen to the stories of hundreds of people affected by suicide from close friends or relatives. She should have to learn the life stories of the people who killed themselves, their goals and aspirations, their hobbies, and why they ultimately chose the path they did. When she feels real, unabated guilt for her actions and remorse for the horrible things she did, then that's real justice. Empathy and emotion are much stronger than prison bars. --- Rainbow Dashing: "it's just star wars" AutumnEspirit: *kissu* ... Copied to Clipboard!
