It gets too much flak. The gunplay is fine, the hand to hand is fun, 2 campaigns with FMVs, and that hacking minigame was the tits! It was fun to figure out on your own and use it to unlock multiplayer, secret levels, cheats, and concept art.

Even though it had some rough edges, I liked it >_>

Better, but I had fun with both. I remember when EtM was the most expensive game ever at $50 million.

I liked the shooty-fighty stages but the driving levels are legit the worst thing I've played in a video game ever.

Is that the one that ended with a blue guy and a pink guy come out and explain that the ending of the movie wouldn't really work as a kickass game ending and instead make you do a boring ass boss fight with a giant Smith?

I only played it once, but I remember it being fun as fuck.

It handled the Neo power creep really well.

Also the final boss was fucking ridiculous.

I remember fist fighting the agents to see how long I lasted (you were meant to run away).

Also it's not very common for video games to get famous actresses to lesbian kiss lol.

That's definitely not this game. It ends with Niobe, Ghost, and Spark being stranded in a tunnel after a sentinel chase. It leads into the 3rd movie.

Path of Neo was amazing. I got Enter the Matrix for the insane cheats and secrets. Like the car fighting game.

It wasn't bad but not worthy of praise either. Pulling off those Matrix moves felt organic and satisfying enough, but the driving segments were bad even for back then.

I did that to. There was a level on the tops of buildings where you could knock them off. I saw how many agents I could kill.

Which game had the randomized alterations to the cutscenes? Like the lines were voiced in different ways and stuff.

Agree. It was a sweet game. People don't often appreci s te just how complex the game engine was. The beat-em-up mechanics were almost more like fighting mechanics, which transitioned seamlessly to/from a platformer/shooter mode. There were even driving mechanics that overlapped with the shooting mechanics. None of these things were the best in their genre buy the sheer breadth of it was fantastic for a sixth-gen game. Granted, this is probably why is was pretty rough when it comes to glitches, but either way I found it super impressive at launch.

And there were so many hidden moves. You can do a back handspring in combat but I could never figure out how (it always seemed to just happen), you can perform one-hit-kill moves by equipping a gun and doing a throw, or by focus disarming enemies though it's only a one-shot half the time as Niobe). If you draw a gun in a fist fight, this makes enemies punch at you (even civilians, lol), causing you to dodge and cap them in the chest, never missing even against agents.

I always thought it was funny that they acted like it was this hugely plot-important deal to the movies but really nothing that happened mattered. The first mission is literally Ghost/Niobe going to the post office, lol.(Why didn't they just go when it was open?) The airport mission was like "Who is this guy we're saving again?" And most of the things tht do matter, they just put in a single throwaway shot in Reloaded so they would have a question to answer in the game. ("How did Niobe end up on the freeway to save Morpheus?!")

I remember fist fighting the agents to see how long I lasted (you were meant to run away).

Spent HOURS doing this. The rooftop agents you could handle by pushing them off.

There was one agent in the airport (I think) you could "kill" by turning around immediately after the chase starts and shooting at him. He dodges, ofc, but the bullets will hit something behind him, which releases steam and takes him out.

Agents could be "killed" by 4 or 5 grenade launcher rounds or one shot from the gas gun thing you get in the power plant.

But it doesn't look like you can ever actually defeat them otherwise. I managed to glitch the game during the big chase sequence near the end and made an agent unable to fight back. I punched and kicked him for about an hour, unloaded the 50AE (and all my other weapons) on him, and did like thirty sword kills on him and he kept getting up, lol.
