Was a rough start, but it got good quickly and then it got very good.

These last few arcs have been amazing and even brutal at times.

And now they are even remembering to bring in one of my favourite characters from the novels I read and some kind of weird Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones interactions between Ahsoka and Anakin.

Also, Hondo is now quickly becoming one of my favourite villains, ever.

Why is this show mentioned so little?

I was under the impression it was quite popular.

The film gave it a bad reputation though.

You're watching season six right? It was a netflix exclusive so I know some people who skipped it.

Following some chronological list, so I think I watched a few episodes of 6 and am now in the middle of an arc in the middle or so of season 5.

Wow, never thought we'd get a team-up like this.

Just a bit confused about ages now, Anakin was just old for a Padawan I guess? Always thought Barris was Anakin's age when reading the books...

In the old canon Bariss was older than Anakin.

The new canon (TCW and on) undid all that.

I guess that explains things.

My exposure to Star Wars had always just been the movies, the Kotor and Katarn games and two books taking place between Episodes 1 and 2, before watching the Clone Wars.

It was hilarious because TCW aired before Disney officially got rid of the old canon, so you had to watch canon-obsessed nerds furiously try and justify TCW non stop contradicting every piece of old Clone Wars canon.

Star Wars The Clone Wars is awesome, and my favorite arc was the Mortis arc.

Too bad the show got cancelled, there would have been at least 2 more seasons and a fleshed out version of what happens to Ventress instead of that being in comic form (also she looks great with hair).

And from here the downer ending only gets worse I assume? Order 66 malfunctionings...

Do I even have any upbeat episodes left?

Oh man that arc was great.

Fives is so good.

It gets sort of a non ending in release order, I don't know if that changes chronologically.

Probably not, but then again, I'm going to watch Episode 3 again anyway before moving over to Rebels.

Rebels is a very different show, it has a much smaller scope and more regular cast, and is generally more lighthearted (though TCW has it's fair share of joke episodes because the tone/quality is all over the place). I thought the first season was kind of uninteresting but it gets a lot better once everything is set up.

I'm really wondering how deep the rabbit hole goes now, I do not remember from anything else the Kaminoans being in on the Order 66 programming.

Order 66 got completely changed from the old canon as well. In the old canon it was just an order that the clones obeyed without question because brainwashing, they didn't have any problem with it because they didn't consider it different from obeying any other order.

They knew about it. It comes up in attack of the clones i believe.

Who do the Kaminoans think Tyranus is? They do seem genuinely on the side of the Republic, and I doubt they are aware of Sheev's actual plan.

As much as I like the Clone Wars looking into the politics and the scheming behind the scenes, I am confused about the details on who is exactly in on what...

Their interests are in maintaining power within the republic. the jedi are merely just a primitive religious faction to them.

Some more Jar Jar action, so either it is going to be slightly more light-hearted for a moment or somehow even darker...

I think that just answered a question I still had, at a moment when I was not expecting it.

Most likely nobody even remotely relevant knows Tyranus = Dooku and probably do not even know anything about Tyranus besides the name belonging to some shadowy figure.

Just goes to show how long it has been since I watched Episodes 2 and 3, I was convinced they knew Dooku wasTyranus after Episode 2...

Edit: and now I'm even more confused, first they are not suprised for Dooku to show up and then they are surpirsed for him to be Tyranus... So what did they think Dooku's connection was to Syfo-Dias?

Also, that is more naive than I have ever seen Yoda...

It's ridiculously contrived and never made a whole lot of sense in either canon, because AotC had a generally shitty plot.

The basic idea I think is that Sifo Diyas and Dooku were friends who wanted the Republic to have an army, so they somehow got the funds to order one, but Dooku killed Diyas because he was secretly a sith, and he always operated under the alias Tyranus, which no one knew him as.

In episode 2 the only one who ever calls Dooku Tyranus is Sidious. And I think he was called that in some toys.

That was actually quite a good "ending", considering the only actual definite ending it could have had was the kidnapping of the chancellor. Since the Clone Wars did not end until Episode 3.

It managed to feel like an ending, while not actually being an ending. I only really missed Unduli in the dream scenes, but I might have just overlooked. Otherwise, all relevant Jedi characters of the show were shown one last time and there were some call forwards to the later movies.

Now to mentally prepare for rewatching episode 3 now that I actually know and care about all these Jedi in the Order 66 sequence...

Rogue 1 the 21st of August on Netflix here, such timing. Won't actually have to wait for it once I have watched Rebels.
