The only reason this generation feels worse is because we didn't have a major revolutionary change hit AAA gaming that has stuck. Motion Controls blew up in everyones face and VR hasn't taken off yet.

We're basically in a holding pattern of Shooters and Open World games and there hasn't been anything to really change those genres up that much either. That's why you have people that are so burnt out on Call of Duty even though it's in space, and people who say GTA V is boring even though it's Rockstars biggest title yet.

As far as quality of content itself goes, this generation is no better or worse than previous generations. You're just getting bored with the same shit AAA has been pumping out for 3 generations now.

In all honesty, I would recommend playing games outside of your norm. There's plenty of different things going on in the independent scene.

Hey now, there's been some pretty great movies that have come out the past couple years. Dunkirk, Get Out, Baby Driver, Arrival.

Yeah but Hollywood as a whole has been reboot after reboot, sequel after sequel, cookie cutter comedy movies and so on for a while now.

You just gotta know what to look for. It just seems like more remakes are being made because that's what Hollywood markets, and, honestly, that's what people talk about. People bitch about the remakes, but they still go and see them, so Hollywood still makes them.

The Baywatch remake made $173.7 Million Worldwide. Do you know how much Moonlight, last years Best Picture winner made? $65 million.

Great movies with new and exciting ideas are still being made, but you have to dig a little deeper to find them, because the surface level stuff like the Jumanji and Bayatch remakes, that's what appeals to the masses, so that's what they're going to promote more.
