The Doctor changes shape all the time. James Bond is a code name. So anyone can be that agent. But that's where I draw the line. Most other things should stay as they were. Like Domino having almbino white skin not being a black woman that looks nothing like in the comics. And if you think I am alone check the comic board. Everyone there is pissed off about Domino

all of the world's problems would be no more if we just consulted the Comics board first.

I don't have any problems with the concept of a woman Doctor or Bond in itself, but I do hate WHY they're wanted. Most of the desire has little to do with the actual progressing the story or characters, & almost entirely for the affirmation of certain social/political beliefs; it's essentially in the same class as wanting female characters "because they're hot".

The Doctor makes sense. IIRC, there is some precedent for it, and the Doctor has already broken his own rules of regeneration by now, so it's not really shocking or weird.

Bond is a bit of a misogynist, though, and it's sort of intrinsic to his character. The whole 'code name' thing is still just a theory. That being said, I still think Idris Elba would make an awesome Bond. Besides, they basically created a female Bond with Atomic Blonde. She even gets a hot, foreign, female lover who is killed by the film's villain right before the climax.

It would be cool if someone did a movie, possibly in the Bond universe, with a female agent (not Bond itself though) with a Bond-like personality. She would be a total manizer too.

She'd probably go to bed with at least 3 different men during the movie. One gets killed by the enemy, one ends up being evil and she kills him, and then the last one is who she drives off into the sunset with.

It would be incredibly bad optics for a black actor to play a role with chalk white skin, much like it'd be bad for a white actor to play a role with charcoal black skin.

Zazie Beetz has the costume, the eye pigmentation, and (presumably, we'd have to wait to see footage) the attitude of Domino. I get that's there is a certain joy to seeing comic book characters come to life on the screen looking exactly like they do on page. But Domino is more than just her hair and skin color.

It's pretty good. First act is a bit slow and I found that it a bit annoying that they kept having to make references to the fact that it takes place in 1989, but otherwise it was pretty fun. There is a particular scene in a stairwell in the later third of the movie that was just so insanely cool and brutal that it stood out as the movie's signature scene to me.

So TC just said that he has no problem with characters having gender changes, but still has a problem with characters having racial changes.
