As a refresher, I used to have a storage unit, mostly of stuff my mom was hanging on to for me. I cleared it out last year, and this year I am finally getting around to going through all the stuff. It's mostly childhood/baby stuff, with the occasional things from later on, or from my parents before I came along.

We're nearing the end of summer and I wanted to be closer to done by now than I am, so I am moving this to the top of my priority list. Should be a lot closer to my initial idea of a box a day! Next one starts now.

I'm cheating a little here- I have OPENED the box already, as I was recently looking for my Stargate DVDs. Tomorrow's box will be in the same situation. However, I don't know tons about what's in here beyond "electronics."

-Unopened earbuds. Nice.
-3DS stylus/screen protector/wipe pack
-3D glasses. Guy gave me these for minecraft, but I'm not sure I ever used em
-Touch screen styluses. Stylese? Stylii?
-Little digital camera from slightly before phones became a serviceable replacement. Complete with case from the camera before it..I don't remember what happened to that one actually.
-The BOX for Sibelius 5, but inside it has random happy meal toys, college-branded silly putty, keychains, and a pack of glowstick bracelets.

-USB adapter kit
-Various chargers and adapters
-iHome compnents and manual (iHome remains MIA)
-My first external hard drive, which IIRC will only connect to macs now.
-Laptop power cord with adapters. Did not solve that laptop's charging problem.

-A plugin for my clock that goes under your pillow and vibrates for the alarm. Would work better if I didn't thrash around so much in my sleep, but I do still have that clock.

I have indeed been doing this for a while- there were probably a couple dozen boxes. I'm maybe halfway through that but my big project was clearing out our closet and that's close to done.

Today's box is the other one I opened in search of Stargate.

-Starage seasons 5-8 (that's all I got because who cares about the last bits)
-Flashcards from a previous attempt at learning Japanese, complete with a nice little accordion file for them.
-Empty plastic bags????

Hey Tom, I unpacked two boxes from my late grandmother's storage facility yesterday.

Mostly kitchen stuff and a lot was just trashable. But I did get a full set of utensils and some good pots and pans out of it.

Back to the work week, and back to the boxes. This is the last box out of the closet! That was my primary objective for the summer, but there are a good number more boxes in other random corners of the apartment, so we aren't done yet. Looks like games and toys?

Venturing into "rest of the apartment" boxes! This one says "Old Yard Sale Finds" and "Piano Music" but it feels much too light to be the latter. ....but that's what it is!

The Final Unboxing: "Knickknacks from shelves"

-A right-handed baseball glove and soft baseball. Why?
-Very old Sesame Street lunchbox with matching thermos. And a little cup.
-LAVA LAMP
-Formal invitations to my college graduation. Whole buncha programs too.
-A baggie containing a pair of $2 bills, half a $1 bill, pins from my choir, some arcade tokens, a wheat penny, and a...perfectly unremarkable penny.
-A troll doll
-Lunar Landing Micro Machines in box, with a post-it note saying to check ebay before getting rid of it.
-More old pottery class stuff: two pretty solid, albeit tiny, coin jars
-Music-decorated cup. I suspect my mom painted this.
-A...glass jar.
-Two....glass bowls.
-Foreign coins in a little container
-Lots more coins, loaded into a tied sock in case somebody needs a beat down. They range from rare/out of print to Canadian to regular ol' pennies to tokens for arcades that shut down a decade ago.
-Old Grip Stix pencil
-My old marble collection, which I think really was more like my dad's old marble collection
-Storage containers. I grew up with 'em so it's oddly one of the most nostalgic things in the box

And that brings to a close the great de-boxing of summer 2017! We'll try to get pictures up within the next couple of days. I'll keep doing boxes here and there, but I would be surprised if this topic stuck around long enough to post the contents, and I'm not gonna make a new one for 'em.
