Rikku from FFX is one of my favorite FF characters so of course her. I also think she's the hottest out of them in that game as well XD I liked Penelo but she was just kinda...there, for the most part. I liked Yuffie and Selphie, but not any where near as much as Rikku.

I guess Rikku was the most annoying, Selphie was good in a fight and a semi entertaining character, same for Yuffie and Penelo was a decent and useful character that often had interesting things to say but always felt a bit too young to be rated for hotness so that's tricky lol
If you take looks out of it, Penelo. If you add looks, Selphie.

I have a hard time thinking of four FF girls farther from "best". There are random villagers with single lines of dialogue I like better than these four.

Rikku was at least in the disasterrific FFX-2. The only good FF since 6, putting it high in the running for best FF game period.

But I gotta vote for Penelo. Penelo gives Fran someone she can stand next to in order to look better. And given that Fran looks great on her own, this makes Penelo far less useless and annoying than the other three.

This is a true statement (... IMO), but, of these four, Rikku. She has a major role in the story of her game(s). Yuffie is a bonus character, Selphie really doesn't do all that much, and Penelo wasn't even really supposed to be in her game at all, anyway.

For me,

Rikku > Yuffie > Penelo > Selfie

I liked Rikku's upbeat and cheery personality. I found her useful in battle. She's actually quite close to Yuffie. Yuffie is as annoying as she is cute. I like her because of Conformer and Doom of the Living.

Selfie was....so bland. I didn't really particularly like or dislike her or her limit break. And Penelo was...ok.

Rikku was made to be eye candy. That said, I have a strong bias for Yuffie since she's a lot like a girl I dated in high school and am still good friends with so many years later. I'll pass on Selfie, and more than doubly so would I avoid Penelo.

Penelo only existed because Vaan did, and I hated Vaan with a fiery passion. She was mildly annoying when she wasn't just there... Her design irritates me to no end. I would take a baker's dozen Vanilles over her. I'd take a few female Tarus or Lalafels over Penelo in terms of personality alone. Hell, Larsa was feminine enough; I'd take that guy over Penelo.

Sorry girls, but Rikku by far. Yuffie might have stood a chance with 'expanded universe' stuff since it fleshed her out and gave her a better personality, but that's not allowed. Selphie is decent but she's just not in the same league of fun. Penelo... is basically just there to be Vaan's girl in XII (better in RW) so no contest.

Incorrect, at least in my case. Been playing Final Fantasy since the U.S. release of FF1 in 1990.

Similar in my case, but I simply hadn't heard of Final Fantasy until Mystic Quest and FFVI (then III as far as we knew) came out, and I saw the commercial for the latter on TV.

Our acknowledgement, in several ways, of Rikku being the deliberate eye candy that she is says nothing of our age and everything in our tastes being better than generic-hyper-girl Selfie or superfluous Penelo.
