I was lurking reddit and they are saying things like they are gonna get 5 of them and stuff. Is it really that good of a deal? Here is the drive.

These drives contain WD red 8TB drives. Currently, the standalone drives are sold for roughly $280+. The easystores are now sold at $160. This is on par with legendary black Friday deals.

I know high price doesn't always equal quality and vice versa, but I'd be afraid of the failure rate on something that big being that cheap.

picked one up at my local Best Buy for $179 after tax. it is indeed a WD Red - mine is a WD80EFAX, so 8TB with a 256MB cache. it runs at 5400 RPM, but this is for bulk storage rather than speed, so that's fine

if you need a hard drive upgrade, i suggest jumping on this
