It was good. Good cast and gameplay was good with lots of side stuff to do, but some characters were kind of useless to the main plot (Shadow, Relm, Strago, Gau). I felt like the only party members that really got attention were Edgar, Sabin, Terra and Edgar.

I also have to say that after having played it, Kefka is a very overrated villain. Sure, he gets what he wants but he really didn't have any motivation other than "I'm evil!"

Edit: I totally forgot Celes in the important characters list

I thought Celes got a decent bit of attention in the plot too.

But that music, right?

The World of Balance world map theme (Terra's Theme) is probably my favorite piece of game music of all time, though the whole soundtrack is amazing.

Great game. It should be called "Missables - The Game" though. I think I'm one of the few people that actually likes missables. It gives you a reason to replay a game and to experiment and explore. Plus, it's nice when find something you previously didn't know about.

Kefka doesn't have a lot of depth to his character, I agree. I think people like the fact that he *major spoilers* destroys the world. The stakes are pretty high and it's good to kick his ass at the end.

Yep. It has many of my favorite tracks in the series.

Wait did you call Shadow useless? And how have you never played ff 6, in the 10+ years since signing up here.

Ah well congrats. Weird opinion about Kefka, I thought you'd at least say you liked his dancing mad theme. I had that as my ringtone for years. Kefka has always been a pseudo joker rip-off, but that doesn't mean he isn't a fun villain, especially during the first part of the game.

Man, such a great game, even with the world of ruin portion of it... it's the game that truly instigated the golden age of final fantasy moving away from crystal story lines and having out there story lines that are usually fun, ending with the last game in the series ff 12.
