Ps4 version of course. Does that one chest warn you at all before you open it or should I look it up to make sure I don't open it by accident

The chests for the zodiac spear? There were much more than just one (4 locations, one of them had 16 chests), and it doesn't warn you, that's why it was so stupid.

It was so stupid that they removed that from the Ps4 version, so it's ok to open all chests. The zodiac spear is also much easier to get now, and it also got nerfed.

I was actually thinking about giving this another shot, too. Problem is, I just found the gameplay to be *so* boring... I wish they just included an option for turn based combat.

It was actually removed in the International version on PS2.

You can't fuck up. It's literally impossible. Be aware that you will lose access to licenses for top level items when you assign some quickenings or espers to your character, but you'll be able to see when you're about to do it on the license board, so you can pick your moment.

No, but some characters are better at certain classes than others because of animation speed, starting stats, etc. In the end it still amounts to nothing since you can beat the game as whatever and Zodiac Age made it easier by allowing you to give everyone two classes instead of one like in IZJS.

Wasn't the original system easier and allowed everyone to master everything or am I thinking of the wrong game?

Also when I played this game in 10th grade I didn't understand the Vaan hate, now I 100% understand it.

This was pretty much how I felt. I never liked him, but never loathed him either; I'm usually pretty forgiving of most characters that other people hate. But once I decided to cast a critical eye on him after hearing how hated he was, he did not hold up at all. He actively brings the game down by being in it.
