The game is really fun. The biggest problem I see is the bugs, but they don't detract from the experience that much.

I just finished it yesterday. I think gamers are just absolutely terrible at managing expectations as a whole. They allow themselves to get hyped to unrealistic levels, and then the tiniest of flaws become unbearable.
Andromeda was a tier below what we came to expect from the Mass Effect series, but on its own its a decent enough game. The story started off slow, got a lot better, then had another "okay" ending (ME isn't known for their endings, heh). The facial animations, the handful of glitches, and clunky movement do detract from the game. At full price, I wouldn't have been satisfied. At $20, I got more than 20 hours from it and overall enjoyed it. I hear they patched it, but offensive powers were basically useless at launch on higher difficulties.
First play through was on insanity, and combat was just really boring. Since cloak + sniper was the only way to do decent damage. Combine that with a totally empty open world which is just driving to waypoints and it's a bad combo.
