I work in a grocery store and almost every obese person buys nothing but shit. What you would buy for a party is what they buy for everyday food.

Yes and no. One could argue their genetics cause them to be predisposed to gaining weight much easier than someone who is thin yet eats the same terrible food and doesn't exercise yet doesn't gain weight.

Or one could argue it's the food and it doesn't matter what the food does to other people--if the food makes you personally overweight it's your fault for eating it and/or living a sedentary lifestyle.

*Edit - I didn't mean to quote you. Not sure why I did.

Medicine can't magically create fat out of nothing. The percentage of the adult population who it is effectively impossible for them obesity to avoid due to genetics or medicine they need to take becoming obese is low. Unless you are mentally challenged, or largely immobile and at the mercy of caretakers/families providing for you there isn't much likelihood of a way you could legitimately say "This fat is not my fault and there was no way I could reasonably have avoided this"

Also the very idea of a "going on a diet" is absurdly stupid. You don't change your diet for a week. You change your lifestyle for life if you want to shed the pounds and keep them off.

You should submit your interesting observation to the New England Journal of Medicine. "Obesity can be solved by the obese eating less."

Fuckin' mind blowing observation brah. I'm sure hundreds of thousands of research oriented MDs and biomedical science PhDs have never thought of such a thing.

I didn't say it did. I'm saying that healthy eating habits can actually make you fat if you suffer from certain conditions or are on certain medications.

Hey, do you get paid to move those goal posts or is that just a passionate hobby of yours?

What did the topic say, "fat people are only fat because they eat like shit". Did they say obese? No. did they say "because they eat like shit and have other complications". No.

The fact is, someone can eat healthy, and still struggle with their weight if they are on certain kinds of medication or have certain conditions. I'm not excusing poor diet, I'm saying it's not always as simple as "eat healthy" when some medications contain steroids or some conditions cause you to pack on twice the weight from half the food.

Some meds do make you fat, one big example of this is seroquel. Apparently, if you take seroquel, you end up becoming ravenous and you want to eat the entire grocery store.

If you have a mental or physical disability that prevents you from exercising or otherwise properly taking care of yourself, you get a pass. Otherwise you have no one to blame but yourself.

Metabolism isn't a magical set number that you're born with and cannot change no matter what. There is no condition or medication that is going to stop you from burning around 2k calories a day just for the body's normal processes. If you eat reasonably you will not gain weight. If you add a little exercise on top of that, you will be in even better shape.

No medication can turn you into a fatty just magically no, but some do help in gaining weight. I had been skinny all my life and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. My treatment consisted in high doses of corticosteroids and they made me hungry as fuck. I would eat a lot and still feel like I was starving when previously I could go an entire day without eating and not feel bad. I was on that treatment for six months and gained 20 lbs and had to work hard to lose them afterwards.
That was for six months only. Imagine people who have to take it everyday for years.

Im actually a bit annoyed at those health freaks. I know plenty of vegetarian women who keeps saying they want to lose weight but they are fat anyways.

Just drink a can of soda everyday and get a mccy Ds and a subway each once a week and you'll be fine. I also get 3 Chinese a week cause we run a restaurant. Im not proper fat, just slightly chubby. But chineses are no where near as fatty as doner meat and pizzas. Especially pepperoni pizzas.

Proper fat people drink 2 liter bottles like its water. I know a fat guy who drank 6-8 cans of soda a day. I pretty much watched him develop diabetes. Felt bad for him when he got the news that day.

But hes the same asshole now. Just doesnt drink soda anymore.
