I feel sympathy for the parents in the situation, but from what I understand all the unbiased medical opinion (ie, not "experts" representing the company selling the miracle treatment plan) was that the baby had effectively zero chance of recovery and was living in a prolonged state of suffering.

What about who would pay for the care that was needed for this baby? I heard that the parents had raised money from online donors but would that have covered the full cost of all care?

I don't know a ton about this case, but it seems like some European Court prevented this family from taking their son to the US for an experimental treatment. This sounds fucking tyrannical. It's not like the Europeans were going to be paying for it. Hell, they probably spent a lot of taxpayer money on the damn court case. Seems like another example of basic personal liberty being suppressed in Europe.

The parents weren't going to have to pay anything. This should be a scary message on giving the government more control in exchange for free stuff. --- Father's dream; devour the twin.
