They went out for drinks, went back to 'his hotel' after and the last thing she remembers is him slamming her head against the wall. She's got massive bruises all over her body and a huge gash on the back of her head.

The dude unmatched himself on Tinder and deleted the chat log from her phone.

The hotel didn't take ID or anything for the room because it's like...a backpacker street in Vietnam.

She woke up alone in the hotel.

Convenience store bag with a receipt in it for condoms.

No used condoms or wrappers in the hotel garbage or room anywhere.

Told her to get tested, file a police report, contact the hotel and see if there's some kinda support for Tinder with her data backed up on the cloud. Her response was, "I'm just gonna sleep it off today, maybe tomorrow."

The reason I'm asking if you saw the injuries personally, is because her story sounds fake.

If she's already at a hotel with this man, why would he rape her?

Also the slamming against the wall and 'waking up alone'. The whole story is just far-fetched. It could happen, but doesn't really follow standard modus operandi.

Combine it with the not reporting it and making excuses because she's 'tired'. She didn't immediately call the police after being violently assaulted? Didn't go to the ER? It's ridiculous.

Probably just seeking attention.

I've had a few friends have shit happen to them in SEA and not involve police before.

Police here are pretty corrupt, there's always a chance they'll try extorting victims for money even.

If she was assaulted or raped, she should fucking report it.

I told my landlord about it asking to get her help, I don't really know standard procedure here in Vietnam.

I really doubt she's lying about this.

She told me about what happened and showed me her injuries then I gave her some advice and contacted my landlord. I don't see what's unbelievable about that.

Housing in Vietnam isn't like Western countries - or even other parts of Asia. The only shared space is the kitchen. France used to base taxes on size of land, so housing is built vertically and split-level design. I've only ever talked to her a few times. Some other areas France occupied had these tax laws too, but it's most commonly found in Vietnam.

Shanghai is a good example. The French concession area still has housing from that period.

I really don't see how telling people this story without revealing her identity makes me a terrible person.
