Poll of the Day > So i finished my first week of fundraising for D.A.R.E.

First off cause I know people are gonna ask. They took marijuana out of the curriculum, the drug portion is focused on prescription pills and heroin now/ I guess that's what all the kids do now a days *shrugs*. But it is actually the best job ever. Now the hours are long like i do 12-14 hour days, which is fine by me, but i have so much fun it doesn't even matter. Not only do i have fun doing that but my co workers are amazing and they feel like they legitimately want to help me improve. Of course i try and hype them up to better themselves as well. They are okay with that and they encourage me to do it as well. It is a positive place and it only helps me to be better. I have so much energy after work that i started to take up jogging at night to expel it.

In the morning, we start at 8am (sometimes earlier), we do some training LOA's (law of averages, hard to explain to look it up if you don't know) FUGI (same thing here) and other things like the 5 steps to a conversation. They help trian you to have a pitch and practice it. etc etc. Then we head out to the field and fund raise at events like; best buy, ace hardware, 711, target, etc. Either we hit the daily goal for the team or it reaches 8pm. then we pack up and head back to base, where we break down the day and go over what we need work on, what we did good on, and what goals we want to reach.

We also hang out a lot. Like every thursday they do a team event after work. This week was bowling and it was amazingly fun. then last night we hung out at the my team leaders house and we were up tell like 2 talking about shit and getting to know each other. then i dropped a co worker off and we chatted for like a hour. Then i finally got home and passed out at 4.

They changed it a lot. It isn't focused on drugs as much as it was. Mainly on presciption pills and heroin. More about anti bullying, suicide prevention, better life skills, etc.
