I'm going to have to do something like 13 initial interviews, and then several call back interviews if any of those firms are interested in me, in the immediately following week.

It's actually a huge pain. But at least i'll know what my job is for next summer. And probably the forseeable future after that.

I thought about going to law school but then I looked at the whole process and just decided it wasn't for me. Plus I had no real interest in law and would've just been doing it for the sake of doing something.

tbh I don't really know right now

I'm working in the legal branch of a big civil rights nonprofit this summer, which is fine. But I know I'm going to want a career where I make money, and I'm not a fan of the SJW-y neo-Marxist types that tend to dominate these sorts of organizations.

When I get into one of these big firms I'm probably going to try to work on the litigation side, but who knows what practice area. I've taken an antitrust class which was very interesting, but it's too hard to tell if I would be interested in that sort of litigation. Also the culture scares me, but I could also see myself not minding the long hours too much. Only time will tell.

What region of the country are you in? It might also be worse at your school tbh. Because lawyers are so obsessed with rankings, I'm sure many students at your school will compensate for the relatively lower ranking by working ridiculously hard to get to the top.
