uh, you have the kokiri sword far longer than you have the fairy ocarina.

you get the fairy ocarina when you leave the village, and the ocarina of time as soon as you go to the castle. an average playthrough of the game means you have the fairy ocarina for less than two minutes.

i was mistakenly thinking that the cutscene of zelda and co escaping from ganon was as soon as you got to the castle, and not after you return with all the gems to unlock the master sword
