The battle system is completely stupid-- sends way too much data back and forth at once for a Pokemon game's servers, or lack thereof, to handle. Should have been similar to the Gameboy games; there is much less data to process (not as much input handling, multiple button mashes per however many attacks-- it adds up REALLY fast given the large number of people who play/ed).
I had to quit the game after 2 solid months of trying to stick it out from my love of Pokemon games. I felt like I owed it to myself to keep trying to like it. I couldn't. So many people went to Chicago to participate in the legendary event, and Niantic found a way to fuck that up too. --- Working in a team is great! It always helps to have someone else to blame. ...
