Reason: Old people are mean and stupid.

You ask me to slice this roast beef any thinner, and I'm just going to hand you air Lady.

I worked at this apartment finding place in Detroit just off of Woodward. We were leasing agents and part of our job was finding the best option for folks with the money they had. Was a big fucking scam for the most part. We'd get people to come in, drive them around and most of the time they'd find a place they liked. Here's where the shady shit comes in. Sometimes they would t find a place and in those instances we'd send them to the boss who would convince them to leave a deposit and we'd "try" to find something for them. Thing is, if they didn't come back in 10 days to go out looking again we (the boss) got to keep the money they left.

One time we had this guy call up and mentioned me and the main office guy by name and threatened to kill us. So later in the week I'm taking this lovely lady out to find a place and this dude comes walking up the stairs with a Crocodile Dundee sized knife in his hand. Thankfully, working in Detroit we were all armed and the guys upstairs saw him coming and called the police.

I was there for 4 months. Ended up leaving because the boss refused to pay me on commissions I rightfully earned. Turned out like a month later the FBI busted the place because the boss was cleaning money for drug dealers who were renting the top floor of one of the building he owned.

That's insane! I'm glad nothing happened to you and you got out in time.

I took a welding job out of high school to save for college. Worked there for a bit and ended up goin on long term disability with cancer. Come back after 9 months of chemo and a fairly invasive surgery. My boss keeps railin on me about leaving early alot and starts callin me chemo boy. I let him have it one night for his shit and i get called in to hr the next day. They lecture me on how to treat my supervisors, walked out before they could finish.

Got a job at a tree nursery one summer. Quit my job that paid $10.25 an hour because my friend said I'd make $15.50 to start.

Well it was painfully boring, only paid $14 and I learned pretty quickly I had an allergy to cedar so every day I'd go home with huge rashes on my arms and legs.

The icing on the cake was 5 weeks later when they laid off all the summer help 6 weeks early. I had to phone up my old job and beg for them to hire me back on.

Oh I forgot to add it was a union job where we paid dues but had no representation since we were temporary. I got stupid mail outs from the United steel workers union for like 2 years after. So annoying.

Telemarketing for MCI
- A guy in the same training class as me threatened to kill us
- All through training, they said MCI was back in business because of their ethics. "They do the right thing because it's the right thing to do." When I got out of training, the first thing I heard my boss say was "YOU GOTTA HUSTLE THESE PEOPLE!"
- They raised people's bills for no reason at all

The day I quit, they had an awards ceremony. I got my perfect attendance award, told my boss I quit, and walked out of the building.

Worked at some dog day care place for a couple months. The job itself wasn't horrible and I basically got paid to just sit down and pet dogs when they calmed down, but the owner was a complete psycho. First of all, she didn't train anyone how to do anything, I never even learned how to work the cash register system. She kept us severely understaffed (one day it was just me watching over 50 dogs in 4 separate play areas; luckily, most were older dogs who just wanted to lay around all day, and only a few crazy puppies), and she instantly fired anyone who made even the most minor offense. She fired one lady because she didn't hear the phone ring which was situated far away from the play areas where many barking dogs are. She fired another girl because she didn't clean the play areas correctly despite never being taught how to (using certain chemicals). One time she accepted aggressive boxers even though we weren't supposed to accept aggressive dogs, spent all day spraying them with water to "discipline" them, put them with her older dog who she figured would also "discipline" them, and they got into a fight with her dog and she fired a small girl because she didn't run and break up the fight that the owner caused quick enough.

She used to bring her dogs in too (she had like 7 of them), and one was a little puppy boxer. One day I was watching the dogs, and they were all done playing and pooped and just lying around, and she came in and absolutely FLIPPED because she thought the boxer was dead even though it was clear as day that it was just resting. I was so confused and she was throwing this hysterical, crying tantrum over nothing. Eventually, I got fired because I couldn't come in to work because my mother was in the hospital with a concussion, and I didn't even care because I was done with that place. This was all almost 10 years ago and yeah, she's somehow still in business there.

Was a debt collector for about a year and a half during high school. I also worked cleaning public park restrooms at the same time. I preferred cleaning toilets than bill collecting... I remember grossing over 20k my senior year and thinking I was rich lol
