Better than Bush Jr maybe. Better than Trump, definitely. He was acting senile during his campaign, so I'm sure he would have had some problems still. He seems like a good man though physical health aside.

I likely would not have voted for him, but I liked him more than most Republican candidates. Had the same worries also so Palin made me go from "not voting for him but if he wins I will be okay with it" to "NOPE!"

Campaign finance reform is a big issue for me that could have made it a 1 issue election for me. His proposals didn't go near far enough to sway me though, and then Palin just made it a straight nope for me.

The link reiterates what many of us have said: 2000 McCain was a decent candidate. Better than any other Republican for sure. I probably would have voted for him over Gore honestly.
