I like how this says nothing about sexual objectification of men, which is very much a thing.

Yes it's a thing.

But the fact that it happens to men doesn't invalidate that it happens to women

It doesn't change that women have literally everything to worried about when taught to worried about our thighs, butts, boobs, tummies, face, literally every single partner of your body is taken sexually and literally men started trying to flirt with me in second grade before I even knew people kissed people outside of marriage and maybe I was kind of sheltered in hindsight umm but yeah my whole life it's been a thing.

And beyond that, for women it means some of our dreams, we can't follow. Hollywood; If you're hot you can be rich and famous otherwise? Very limited roles and all your roles are going to be the joke character who is usually pretty gross, or is the Asian stereotype character.

Travel; If you're ugly you'll get insulted and berated in any country aside from England
If you're attractive you're likely to get abused or assualted, or at least treated very strangely and become intimidated by people who won't leave you alone.

If you're not attractive it's much harder to get a decent job. Oh, btw, it's also much harder to get minimum wage jobs if you're not attractive. They only want attractive women for work.

There is a very high chance you get assualted sexually. More than 1/6 women in America, and obviously including third world countries would make it much more. 1/4 chance you are abused physically by a boyfriend even higher if you include child rates, and if you include emotional abuse and child abuse it'll go up to about 75% of women have been or will be abused in their lifetime.

And yet at home you're no my treated well if ours not attractive.

And if you are? You're an object. Some people don't leave you alone. Some people intimidate you. Sometimes people like to degrade you when you're just trying to do risky activities or hang out.

So yes someguys in Hollywood are attractive and yes straight girls like hot guys but no, that doesn't invalidate what women go through.

Why do people keep using American values and shit to justify telling Europeans how they should run their countries?

It makes absolutely zero sense

Americans don't like seeing Europeans doing their own thing in running their countries and seeing it working.

Are you saying that European, Canadian, Australian and other citizens of other countries do not throw frequent criticisms and comparisons at the US and do not often suggest dismantling various Constitutional rights such as the right to bear arms?

Yeah, I'm just completely fucking dumbfounded here.

Do the Americans here not realize that they also have similar hate-speech laws as the UK and other parts of Europe? There's this huge misconception that anyone and everyone can be arrested for saying anything slightly considered offensive, which is not the case and you'll be very hard pressed to find multiple examples of this happening from reputable sources.

The actual laws are about hate speech that incite violence. You can legally say 'i hate (insert group)' but you can't say it in a way that is seen to be provoking actual violence and physical attacks against them. This is exactly the same in the UK as it is in the US.

The only difference is that some European countries have varying degrees of laws pertaining to holocaust denial.

What makes this even funnier is that the US is behind pretty much every single other western country in the Press Freedom Index, which is one of the best ways of measuring actual freedom of speech. But who cares that your press has less freedom to report on your govt, when you can say 'i hate (insert group)' and other nations (supposedly) can't.
