Topic Title Edit: 6 by 3 inches. Her odds of making it through the surgery that I can't go home for are 60%. If she survives she'll possibly be paralyzed or epileptic. She might go into cardiac arrest during, as well.

I don't know how to react. She's supposed to die of old age. Not with constant headaches going into a surgery she isn't sure of.

a lot of times in this situation the family may decide just to opt for palliative care rather than surgery

It's just going to keep growing and get worse. We found a very good brain surgeon, but it's still brain surgery.

And I appreciate the well wishes, guys. My brother is upset that I'm thinking of my work contract. Sure, any job would claim to be understanding in this situation, but I've had to leave work under serious circumstances before and they wouldn't rehire me. The resorts out here don't give a fuck. I have to keep one foot in the door

Yeah. It's not good. I'm so used to her being so hopeful and supportive of me. She's really stressed out and you can tell she doesn't think she's going to make it. I don't know what to say when I call her.

I've been in your spot. You may not need it but does she have a DNR or an advance healthcare directive on file with the hospital? It sounds heartless and I even felt that way too but the two times I was in the thick of it it's like the analytical part of my mind takes over and shoves the emotional breakdown for later.

I did read 63", I was about to say that thing was like two rulers side by side.

That said, I hope there is a treatment pre surgery so that the odds get better for her TC.

She's probably covered as well as a 1%er. She and my grandfather have always thought ahead and are pretty well off. It's why they can afford such a good surgeon.

Damn. I don't know you but I'm sorry anyway. That sucks. Best wishes to you and your family. I always hate hearing shit like this.
How old is she?

I only ask cuz my grandmother is going thru something similar. A tumor in her colon. Doctor removed some of it but she has infection now and it's not clearing up and they weren't able to get all of tumor either. She's 90. So I try to make peace with the fact that she has lived a long and great life. Still so hard to see her in that kinda condition.

Anyway, I hope for the best for you and your family.

Edit: also I have you tagged as "same bday". April 15!

it isn't the best time of year around here.... always something bad happening to someone or another. had to deal with something financially awful this week.
the dog is healing right this time, but i don't want to get another 400$ vet bill.

if asking why, i'm completely out of savings and condolences ahead of time
for grandmother just in case something bad happens (prefer no more bad things happen).

Lol we're a couple of tax babies. And she's in her late 70's. She's lived a long life, but she's got more kick. Her health is great, otherwise. Cartwheel_Kick posted...

We thought it was the onset of alzheimer's. She had trouble remembering smaller details, but she's always had a habit of saying every grandchild's name before the one she meant. Then she started having headaches frequently, so that's when we got the MRi.

I appreciate the well wishes, guys. It means a lot, seeing as how I've been in a bitchy mood these past couple weeks.
