I grea up listening to NWA and other anti-cop groups in the 90s and early 2000s. That entire time I had the "well there's a lot more good cops and they only seem to treat minorities wrong anyway, so I think I'm safe" It wasn't until recently I grew to change my opinions on cops. I also began to research the terrible state of which most police academies are funded, the lack of proper background checks on police cadets. Couple that with the fact it became apparent it's easier to become a cop than it is for an immigrant to obtain a visa - you can see why my opinions have changed. Because age is about more than a number, it's about experiences. You might not want to think that all of these media stories about cops have affected you, but I'm telling you, they have. There are much bigger problems facing the United States in this day and age but it seems everybody would just like to visit their mommy and forget about them.
