I keep seeing an article pop up on facebook that I've been meaning to copy and paste in here, but I keep forgetting. Basically the issue was that every other cameo in GoT is a subtle one where you think to yourself "hey wait a sec, was that coldplay?" With this one it's a major speaking role and he's front and center. I have no problem with the little subtle ones because I like that level of cheeky, but this seemed like shameless promotion. Lastly, I actually have no problem with Sheeran by himself, I just didn't like the way they did this cameo. It also doesn't ruin the show for me and I'll forget by next week lol.

What is the issue with how Ed sheeran did his job? The issue is that his role felt like an in your face plug for his promotion tour. It felt like him going on a talk show playing his latest song. It broke the fourth wall because it was poorly written. It didn't ruin the universe, it just was a little tacky. --- Everything has an end, except for the sausage. It has two. ...
