1. People think differently from you. Get fucking over it. You only sound daft as hell for trying to argue otherwise. The fact that you call other people's opinions "stupid" is still dumb as hell.
2. No one said they "need" to do anything. Maybe being cooped up in a basement or being antisocial as you are you see differently, but personally I like being able to talk to people about events and theories on things that happen in shows or games that I watch. It's why a majority of people probably come to forums like this outside of asking questions.
If you wait three years to talk about it, most people aren't going to give a damn. If I try to go to the Final Fantasy 2 board right now, chances are there will be few to no one talking about that game. Do I need to do it? No, hell I don't always do it. But it's a nice diversion as opposed to keeping to myself like a shy little kid without any friends.
This is something literally TENS of THOUSANDS of people do on a weekly basis from message boards to subreddits, to Youtube. Still not sure how you're this slow that this concept still goes over your head.
