This dude was arguing with me about it. He told me it's not an action RPG but a platformer with RPG elements and I'm like okay you can call it either one I guess and that enraged him even more that I was open to accept whatever term you want to call it and insulted me to call it what he wanted. Just kidding but yeah there are people like this.

I guess the Metroidvanias are pretty much Action RPGs. The Classicvanias? Not so much IMO.

You see, if it wasn't like D&D where you had complete control of your characters, dialogues and destiny then it is not a true RPG. We are all nerds but some people take their nerdism to another level. I thought I was an ultra nerd I mean I love video games, anime, Star Wars, I actively post on a video game forums for shits and giggles.... and yet there are people who are still beyond me in nerdism. Makes me feel like I'm pretty normal.
