Just came home.

The good: Air conditioning. Decent food. Some of the people were pretty cool. Met a cute gamer girl named Cynthia and we exchange info and are going to play Overwatch together. She wants to learn fighting games...

The bad: Someone had a mental breakdown at like 2:00AM and woke up the whole unit. He was my roommate so I only got 1 hour sleep over the first two days. I like Cynthia, but she's only 18 . .and the scary thing is she likes me too <_<. I feel like a total creep, but she was honestly the best thing about staying there. We talked effortlessly about comics, games, movies.

Anyways: I'm feeling hopeful for the first time in awhile. The doctor changed some of my medication, and I'm feeling a lot better. She recommended and out patient therapy program, and I'm going to attend.

The outpatient program I ended up in was definitely the best thing as far as treatment I've done, so its probably the right call

I've been depressed since Decemeber or so.

I've been to my psychiatrist 3 times in the past month, and explained to him my feeling of hopelessness and the mundaness in life. Nobody listened...

Had a big fight with my brother Saturday night..don't really remember. But I threatened him and he asked me if I was sucidal..I sad "I haven't attempted anything, but I have outs if I truly wanted to". He called 911 and I was taken to the local psyhward for a 72 hold.

Check out some of my rants on this gamefaqs account...I was far lost.

Biggest difference was my great Aunt and Great Uncle.

He was 62 and she was 26 when they met <_<.

But it wasn't creepy...they were a cute couple and honestly they seemed very in love. He died at 101 and my Aunt died shortly after of what I assume was a broken heart...

Anytime you're committed involuntarily (meaning the police or EMTs take you to the facility), or anytime you commit yourself voluntarily and then request to be released before your clinicians have determined that you aren't at risk anymore, you're held for 72 hours as a precautionary measure.

Generally these acute treatment facilities are designed for short-term stays, and you would be referred to a long-term residential facility if it seemed like you were going to need serious treatment for longer than a few weeks.

It's the one in the town over since my insurance doesn't cover the one at the local hospital.

I asked if they share any staff, and she said that the therapist I had there was at the other one.

All I know it's a group type setting. Someone's going to contact at the end of July. Honestly it was nice to know that people have the same insecurities and thoughts as me..and we seemed to help each other out just by knowing that fact.

Just got a text from my sister.

She didn't reply for 3 days cause she hasn't been doing well as well. She was in the hospital, doctors think she has anxiety issues and are referring her to a psychiatrist...

She's scared.

She never had mental problems, and I was always concerned she'd have them eventually. I haven't told anyone about me being in there...think I should tell her? I'm not sure if that would help her.

There were some really bad off people. There was a guy that thought he was possessed by the devil and had a bible and was writing notes furiously trying to find a way to save himself.

The people who I talked to were mostly suicidal, and similar to me that nothing was helping.

The whole age thing I think of as follows. I'm 31. If a 20 year old and I got into chatting and we had some things in common, I'd actually think about it. Age is just a number, and as long as your not cradle robbing, it should be fine.

Just use common sense. I tend to stick to a 10 year gap when dating though.

Teach her Guilty Gear. It has superior husbandos and waifus

We were talking about getting into Tekken 7.

I tried T7 and just couldnt get into it. Ive never been a fan of 3d movement and the game has an insane amount of knowledge required just to be okay at it (more than anime imo). I feel like its one of those where you have to be a longtime fan aa I just did not find it very accessible at all.

i'd tell her about the psych hold but don't spin it like a bad thing. tell her you're ok. treat help as something good and progress, not something to be scared or ashamed of. I was involuntarily held for a week earlier this year because I actually attempted to off myself, and being in there was probably the best thing to happen to me looking back. They definitely get you on to the good meds in there and take your feelings and opinions about your treatment a little more seriously, so they give you a pretty clear path to get back on track if you're lucky.
(and the psych ward in my city is notorious for being horrible/useless throughout the country, I felt treated ok there).

games can be taught. I can teach anyone how to play any game to the point where they are kicking my ass in minutes.

as for bars? They are expensive and a waste of money. Noisy, and have perverts hitting on people left and right. I prefer to drink at home.

You also only need to be 21 to drink at the bar, if you were just going there to play pool and the like, there shouldn't really be any issues.

I talked to her..

She pushed me for the details. Told her what I was worried about, she asked if I had a plan for when I move I told her that I was attending an out patient program and they have free therapy at school. Talked about her for awhile, she said she wants to get a therapist when she moves. I said I've always been worried she'd have psych problems when she was older "Well Ryan, I haven't been the most stable..you know the alcohol, gambling and shoplifting". "I don't like drinking that much..I'm a suicidal drunk" "Me too, I have a couple drinks and I'm crying at the bar". "You know I love you, and I'm glad you had the where with all to get help, whether or not it was the best way.. of going about getting help I'm glad you're okay. Don't forget that!" "I love you too as well".

Then we talked about her going away party for a bit, she told me there's going to be about 50+ people there because she knows I'm not good in social settings. Told her about the girl I met "You know age isn't really that big of a deal. If you hit it off, and you like each other than I don't see the problem. You seem like you're both at a similar point in your life, and while it could be toxic I think you could benefit each other by helping each other out with your depression and loneliness. Just play games together, and if it develops into something more then go for it. If not, you have someone to play games with at the least?".
