The day after next, I think I'm finally rested up to do it again.

At what point is it safe to do more than ten in one day?

It's always safe, I don't think you'd injure yourself. But if you want to optimize muscle growth I'd give it at least 2 days, which is what you should give between any same-muscle-group exercises.

Also you might not even get sore the next time you do them. It doesn't mean you worked less hard, it's just that next-day muscle soreness is more something that happens when you haven't worked out in a while.

Well I'm going to just to do ten more today and see how that affect my muscles tomorrow.

I also want to do my back and legs. Any calisthenic workouts that are pushup tier? I don't have any weights or pull up bars.

It's safe now to do more. The pain is what you should be experiencing, the muscles being broken down and healing back up slightly larger is the process of building up muscle density. If you aren't feeling pain in the muscles you have been working, you aren't working at it hard enough and it's essentially pointless.

I joined the Army when I was 18 and in the first 3 days of boot camp, i'd be surprised if I did less than 1,000 push ups. They work you until you can't even hold your body up with your arms anymore. The entire point is to break you down and build you back up fast and efficiently, and it worked.

Consume high levels of protein within an hour of your workout also to gain better results.

Pull ups are the gold standard of body weight back work. There's nothing you could hang off of?

So should I just do ten today? Or go until I fail.

And nah I don't have anything in my house I can hang off. I wouldn't be able to do a single pull up anyway. And jumping pull ups never got me sore.

I did ten push ups yesterday like I said. I'm no where bear as sore as I was the first time. Going to experiment with 20 today.

Any word on calisthenics exercise replacements for squats and pull ups?

Aite just to clarify, I know how to lift. I'm just taking it very very slow and also opening up to more basic suggestions. It's been years but I used to go to the gym, but my body has noticeably aged so I want to make sure I build back up to that point. Physically and mentally.

I'd rather take this from a noob pov for now.

Working towards that. So I can do 10 push ups in the morning, 20 before lunch, 50 in late noon and then 20 again before bed?

What's the difference between spreading them out like that versus doing them in closer sets?
