What I mean is, how trigger friendly are the troops? If a troop is doing an assignment in a dangerous location and there is someone that comes near him but doesn't look overly dangerous, do they have the right to shoot that person? What if it's a kid with a weapon on him that presents a immediate threat? What happens then? This question is inspired from watching "American Sniper"

That's the impression I got. A cop being trigger-happy is a criminal investigation. A soldier being trigger-happy is an international incident.

It means the soldier doesn't have to accept death simply because the threat is from a child.

You can't just shoot people you think are bad. Even if they are hold in a weapon.

I mean if the kid is about to throw a grenade at you then yeah, sadly shoot him.

But it's a thin line between a man holding a weapon and a man that wants to kill you. That's a lot of seconds.

I was trained not to shoot unless fire upon.Even then we still sometimes could not have authorization to return fire.
