I can generally put up with bad anime artstyles, and slow anime (i watched all of monster as a dumb highschooler)

It's pretty fucking solid. When shit hits the fan, it hits hard. The story does a good job of showing both sides in positive and negative lights.

There's really only one scene in particular that's depressing.

He's actually one of the more disliked characters from viewers, mainly since he didn't have an "MC" tag in the original story. I liked him, though he does appear a bit edgy in the beginning.

Shiki is amazing. It's a slow burn, but the payoff is so good.

I couldn't tell you when it picks up. I think ~5-6 was when I got more into it, then it builds itself up until it hits a stride around episode 12 when the main conflict is out in the open.

I will say that character does not stay Shadow the Hedgehog. If anything he's one of the more empathetic characters.

I would not suggest going through things with high expectations. To me, it's better off going through things with mediocre expectations so either it'll pleasantly surprise me or I get my expectation (or I'm still disappointed which means it's actually trash lol)

Mother vamp has only been seen once, quite odd seeing as the little girl is obv the big bad

The talks between her and the monk every other episode are a nice touch
