While I consider it one of the top 5 game series of all time:
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky

is notorious for this.

It is literally impossible to beat 100% w/o a guide because of missables.

Not a huge RPG guy, but I rage quite Super Mario RPG for something like 7 or 8 years because I found out that the first hidden treasure chest can only be reached the first time that you enter the Mushroom Kingdom.

The bromides in the Lunar games are fine. You don't have to have them and if you're one to talk to everybody, you'll find most if not all of them within a few playthroughs.

There's no point in sprinkling them throughout the game if they'll be lingering around endgame to just be grabbed then if so desired.

In the hallway leading up to the throne room. You have to jump on Toad's head to get to the chest that's above the doorway. Later on, even when the mushroom people walk near the door, you can't jump on their heads to reach the platform again.

You actually have to disrupt the story to get it because Mario shouldn't know about the existence of the chest yet and should be more concerned with getting to the chancellor than snagging a hidden item.

This.

People needs to relax it's ok to not 100% a game your first play.

Yeah, that one is total ass. I found all the other ones without FAQs and finally had to look up what I might have missed only to find out that you can't get it after that scene.

Sweet! Now I'm excited about replaying Mario RPG again.

See why missables are fine, even great sometimes?

Whenever I'm about to start a new game, I usually Google "are there missables in X game" just to be sure. I don't care enough about games to play them more than once anymore.

You're gonna replay an entire game just because you missed one chest?

I don't mind missables as much as I hate those missables that are do to the fact you did not know to hit x on three different inanimate objects in the background, talk to NPCs that have no impact on the story in this random order, and be sure to circle around a building three times in this specific time of the game with no clues to do so for no other reason to unlock a secret path.

I am fine with me not exploring and I overlook a cracked wall I did not break through. I am not fine when I missed it because it requires player actions that just seem arbitrary.

Also because it's an excellent game and I haven't replayed it in a while. Mario RPG is a game I usually replay once a year and it's been over two.

Just because I'm replaying doesn't mean I want it to be holy fuck easy. I don't wanna start at the same level I was when I fought the final boss.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn was pretty bad. There are two major Points of No Return (kinda 3 because some areas are changed when you can finally return), and aside from a shit ton of minor things and a couple summons missing, some of the Djinni are missable. You can't even get your characters to their final classes if you miss some.
